A Life of Reason: I don't like being called a feminist
I fully support equal rights for everybody. I do not think that anybody should have any advantage over another because of their chromosomes. There is no question in my mind about the difficult circumstances and inequality that women have to deal with on a regular basis simply because they are…
Being a “feminist” does not mean you don’t support men’s rights- or anyone’s rights for that matter. The term “Feminism” is simply the term for supporting women’s equality. It’s not a mutually exclusive idea.
It sends the wrong message for you to dislike being called a “feminist” because it makes it appear that you feel that other “feminists” may be against men’s rights, or other people’s rights- it gives the term “feminist” a negative connotation of which it should not, and does not, carry.
I know that it does not mean that I do not support men’s rights. It is a term used for people who support women’s rights to be equal to that of men. I do support this, but what is the term for supporting men’s rights to be equal to women? That is why I prefer humanist or equalist.
It sends the wrong message because I prefer a term meaning the same thing over the other? I do not view the word as negative, I just prefer a different term. doubtingmarcus gave me a great one earlier “Sexual Egalitarian.”
I don’t like being called a feminist
I fully support equal rights for everybody. I do not think that anybody should have any advantage over another because of their chromosomes. There is no question in my mind about the difficult circumstances and inequality that women have to deal with on a regular basis simply because they are women. While I will fight for the rights of any woman that is being oppressed, I will also fight for the rights of a man. Because I will fight for the rights of both is why I do not like to be called a feminist.
I much rather prefer the term humanist or equalist (Is that a word? If it isn’t it should be).

Michael Walzer on Just War Theory
The War on Women
You do not have to agree with abortion to support another’s right to choose. The cases that are brought up in this article are completely ludicrous. If any woman is prosecuted for having a miscarriage then all women have lost their rights as human beings.

Imagine what the world would be like if everybody started diferentiating between their opinion and what is right.
This is not a Christian Nation
I could not figure out what I wanted to write about this article. At first I was going to talk about how Christians who are not fundamentalists should be fighting against the extremism that is growing in their faith, but some of you might be. Are you? Then I thought I might talk about how there should be zero religious law in government, but the article pretty much covers that.I guess I will just say this. We are not a Christian nation. We are a free nation and we should all be fighting to stop these fundamentalists and extremists from spreading their hate and bigotry….and if you think our nation was founded on Christianity, here are a few words from our founding fathers.”Question with boldness even the existence of a god.” - Thomas Jefferson
“When a Religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its Professors are obliged to call for help of the Civil Power, it is a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.” - Benjamin Franklin
“I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of… Each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and for my own part, I disbelieve them all.”- Thomas Paine
“Is uniformity attainable? Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth.” - Thomas Jefferson
“During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution.” - James Madison
“The civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretence, infringed.” - James Madison
