It is always inspiring to hear peoples stories of losing faith. I have always seen it portrayed in movies and media as such a horrible thing, but most stories that I have heard from people that have actually experienced it are uplifting.

The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. Alber Einstein - Taken from a letter to Erik Gutkind

"The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it." - Niel deGrasse Tyson

Pretty much spot on how I feel a lot of the time. What do you REALLY believe?

This pretty much sums up how I feel about life. I know that in the enormity of our universe we are nothing more than specks of dust. In my world though, where I have people I love and care about, I know how important I am.
Quite a few people have tried to tell me that because I don’t believe in god, that life must be meaningless to me. I think that if you can’t find meaning without god, then you need to re-examine what is important in your life.

I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own – a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty.

Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism.

Albert Einstein (New York Times, April 19, 1955)
