It is always inspiring to hear peoples stories of losing faith. I have always seen it portrayed in movies and media as such a horrible thing, but most stories that I have heard from people that have actually experienced it are uplifting.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about life. I know that in the enormity of our universe we are nothing more than specks of dust. In my world though, where I have people I love and care about, I know how important I am.
Quite a few people have tried to tell me that because I don’t believe in god, that life must be meaningless to me. I think that if you can’t find meaning without god, then you need to re-examine what is important in your life.
Could Sylvia Browne predict I would write this letter?
So-called psychics are the scum of the earth, and Sylvia Browne is the queen of the psychic shitpile. Please don’t ever let yourself get conned by one of these bottom feeders. They prey on the emotions of the gullible and lie to those in terrible pain.
While I don’t think that they should be outlawed, I do think that we should all try to educate those around us that believe them.
I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own – a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty.
Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism.
